An ever-growing shortage of qualified home care nurses continues to present endless challenges for families in Philadelphia and across PA caring for medically complex loved ones at home. Join PA Families Need Nurses Now on Thursday August 6th for a virtual event - 2020 Nursing Summit: Partners in Care - where presenters and panelists will explore the way agencies, nurses, providers, insurance companies, nursing schools, policy makers, and families themselves can make a direct impact on the shift nursing crisis to support life in the community for individuals with disabilities and medical complexities.
We are excited to build on the takeaways from last year’s Summit and hope to create a space for ongoing partnerships in improving the systems that support people with disabilities and medical complexities in leading everyday lives at home with their loved ones.

In this session PA Families Need Nurses Now will share information about a Family Council pilot program that helps agencies, nurses, and families understand each other’s perspective and partner more effectively to shape the care being delivered by the agency and nurses in the homes. We will also share our “Beyond the 485” template and discuss the benefits of a care plan that focuses on the whole child.
